The idea for Singapore was born during the Easter trip around Ireland, in 2011. We were on our way back to Dublin, after a 4-day road trip around the green island, when we ran out of raptures over the beauty of the local landscape.
In the melancholic mood (because it’s back to work tomorrow ) we discussed ‚what about the future?’. Whether to return to Poland (after 5 years), or to stay in Ireland (but it’s always raining), or buy an apartment here (Irish crisis was conducive to invest), etc. All of a sudden – Andrzej mentioned that there is a new position in his company SAP, although it is on the other side of the world.
“Singapore? …why not!”
A few months later we were greeted by a humid, 30-degree heat at the Singapore airport. It was the 1st of October 2011, and since then time passes in super-speedy pace. We have learned to live not only in a new city, but also in a completely new culture, country with different customs, cuisine, language and of course the weather. This is an excellent and fascinating adventure that allows us to relive the relocation again, just like the first time in Ireland.

Apart from the daily adventures in the city and at work – our main mission is to visit Asia. Therefore „The Singapore News” serves our family and friends two purposes. Firstly, we want to bring you some Singapore life through our daily adventures here. Secondly, we want to tell you about the trips to the nearby Asian countries, with all their diversity and exotics, culture and history, landscape and architecture, or people and cuisine.
This is not a daily blog or a travel blog. We add posts if and when something happens. Every day there is not enough interesting things, and also we are not in full-year trip around the world. However, we invite you all, whether interested in Singapore or the life of Poles abroad, in Asian culture, travel or cuisine – to sign up below (Notifications about new entries). In return, we offer some interesting, Singapore-Asian stories. Welcome!
